I'm an independent policy researcher in Australia, focusing on migration and refugee issues both in Australia and internationally. I currently work for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Before that I worked in London, at a migration policy think-tank, Global Future, and writing analysis of migration and integration policy for Apolitical.

I'm available for commissions, of both policy research and journalistic writing. You can find links to the policy research I've worked on here, and to my writing in the media here. You can contact me by email or on Twitter.

On this site I mostly blog. You can also see my published academic work, if you're so inclined, though I wouldn't really recommend it.

I grew up in Melbourne, and lived in the UK from 2012 to 2019. Among other places, I've worked at the International Organization for Migration in Geneva, the Australian Government in Canberra and Universities UK in London.
